If you are planning a trip to São Miguel in the Azores, you absolutely have to stay at Bella Casa Bed and Breakfast! From the moment you arrive, Bella and David make you feel right at home. They are the friendliest and most helpful hosts you could ever ask for, always ready with a smile or a great local tip. The building was built in 2025, so everything feels incredibly new, fresh, and spotlessly clean. My room was so comfortable, and let me tell you, the bed was absolute perfection. The mattress, the pillows, and the sheets were all so cozy that it was hard to get out of bed in the morning! But trust me, you will want to get up because the rumors are true, the breakfast here is delicious! You can really taste that every single meal is prepared with love. Every day brings a new and special treat, like freshly made pancakes, warm waffles, fluffy omelettes, or perfect French toast. And a very special shoutout goes to Dave’s muffins, which are genuinely legendary. This place is an absolute gem, and I cannot recommend it enough for a warm, fun, and wonderful stay in paradise!

Five stars deluxe!

We felt right at home here with Bela and Dave. We had the room upstairs with a very wide and comfortable bed, two balconies, a large shower and even a small extra room for clothes. The windows can be easily darkened and it was very quiet; the bed is rather firm, we slept very well here. There is always warm water in the shower. Everything is brand new and super clean. Dave and Bela were always very friendly and helpful, and we got great tips from them. The breakfast was excellent, with everything from sweet to savory options. Every morning there was also something freshly prepared, sometimes scrambled eggs, sometimes French toast or waffles. And very delicious freshly baked muffins from Dave. There is free parking in front of the door and also in the courtyard. It takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the city center. Good restaurants are 10 minutes away. From here, you can reach any corner of the island in a maximum of one hour with a rental car. You couldn't imagine a better place to stay for a holiday on São Miguel, everything here was simply perfect!

We stayed at B&B Bella Casa with Dave and Bella for a week in May and can wholeheartedly recommend it. They are an exceptionally friendly and warm-hearted couple who are wonderful hosts. There are a few free parking spaces in the courtyard, or alternatively on the street in front of the house (also free). The breakfast buffet was satisfying and included regional products; there were also freshly prepared breakfast dishes served daily (such as egg dishes or sweet options like waffles, French toast, etc.).

Dave and Bella offer tips on things to do and go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay. The rooms were spotless and featured modern furnishings. It is about a 10–15 minute walk into town..

Truly a home away from home. Bela and Dave were fabulous hosts during our stay. Their quaint bed and breakfast is in a great location near wonderful restaurants and close to activities. The homemade breakfasts, made fresh every morning, were a great way to start the day. The rooms are clean, bright and cheery. The onsite parking was a huge perk due to the limited street parking in the city. We can’t say enough about how wonderful this place is. We stayed at Bella Casa when we were on vacation in Ponta Delgada. Our room and the washroom were immaculately clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. We had great sleeps during our stay. The rooms were quiet in the evenings with no outside noise. Dave and Bela were such wonderful hosts!! They were helpful in giving us information to travel around the beautiful island of San Miguel. The morning breakfasts were the best that we had during our 3 week vacation in Spain/Portugal. We stayed from a Monday to Saturday and each morning the breakfast was freshly prepared, along with amazing local cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, granola and delicious home made muffins. The location was good as well, it was a simple 20 minute walk to the main port where there were restaurants/bars/groceries/car rentals etc. We would highly recommend staying at Bella Casa with Dave and Bela. Everything was top notch!

It really was home! Everything is taken care of down to the smallest detail, the room is super spacious and spotlessly clean, equipped with all comforts. Possibility of parking inside. It was clean, tidy and felt like a home from home. The hosts were amazing. They made us feel so welcome, always checked we were OK and were genuinely two of the nicest people we've ever met. They cook a great breakfast too, with lots of variety each day. This place far exceeded our expectations and I'm so glad we were lucky enough to stay here. I LOVED this bed and breakfast. The hosts are on property every morning and make you the most delicious breakfast. The hospitality is unmatched! They gave us a bunch of great recommendations too. The property is very close to both the ocean and the pool. There’s a bunch of restaurants close by, a mini supermarket, and lots of stores on the water. A 20 minute walk is very easy here because the weather is incredible and everything is very accessible. There’s a pineapple plantation and a park with a playground right behind the property at the end of the block. It’s absolutely perfect!! Our room had views of both the ocean and the mountains. You could see the sun rise and the sunset.

Bella and Dave were outstanding hosts! Each morning, we enjoyed a delicious breakfast featuring local breads, cheese, and meats along with fresh coffee and juices, and a made-to-order hot dishes—ranging from perfectly scrambled eggs and crispy bacon to fresh, hot waffles. Our room was spacious, with a comfortable, medium-firm bed and supportive pillows. The bathroom was also well sized with an amzing showerhead! Bella and Dave made a point to connect with us every morning and offered a variety of thoughtful recommendations that enhanced our stay. Parking was available on site, which was a real bonus given that the city’s charming old streets were designed before cars were common. We often walked to the city center—it was an easy, flat 18-minute stroll. The neighborhood felt very safe, even when we walked to local restaurants for late dinners that ended as late as 11pm. Highly recommended!

My wife and I stayed at this fantastic bed abd breakfast for four nights. Bela and Dave are great hosts, the breakfasts are varied and delicious, the rooms are very nice and as others mentioned spacious (our room had two balconies). The location is really excellent and there are all sorts of great restaurants near by, and it's an easy walk to the city center (we especially enjoyed Jardin Antonio Borges). In sum, I'd highly recommend Bella Casa and would stay there again.
